A Year in Review: Clinch Cultural and Social Impact Programme 2024

2024 was a year of meaningful connection and collaboration for Clinch. Through a carefully chosen programme of cultural and social initiatives, we aimed to support the arts, empower communities, and foster positive change in ways that reflect our core values.

The year began with local partnerships that emphasised community engagement and youth development. Our sponsorship of Ranelagh Gaels GAA Club supported their juvenile teams, strengthening the club’s role as a vital part of local life and a hub for families in the area. In addition, we partnered with Muckross Hockey Club as front-of-jersey sponsors, helping to nurture young female athletes and build on the club’s rich legacy since its founding over a century ago.

Our focus on CSR and community continued through a range of impactful initiatives throughout the year.  In spring, the Clinch team walked from Darkness into Light in Marlay Park, standing alongside Pieta in their vital work to support mental health and prevent suicide. For the ninth consecutive year, we sponsored the Belvedere Union Network Lunch, which raises funds for youth education programmes through the Belvedere Youth Club in Dublin’s north inner city. At the lunch our Managing Director, Tom Clinch, convened a fireside chat with Andrew Lowe, co-founder of the multi-Oscar-winning Element Pictures, helping to raise record funds for the organisation. We also partnered with the Mount Anville Past Pupils Association (MAPPA) for their inaugural Mount Anville Business Networking Lunch, celebrating the achievements of women in business. Our Director, Michele McGuirk, spoke at the lunch, which raised essential funds for the Rose Bursary Programme to provide access to education for young women who might not otherwise have the means to attend the school. Later in the year, we participated in the Women of Concern Annual Lunch in aid of Concern’s important work in tackling gender inequality and funding programmes that empower women and girls in vulnerable communities.

Creativity and cultural enrichment played an important role in our programme. Placing a spotlight on artistic and cultural diversity, we teamed up with the National Gallery of Ireland for an inspiring evening at the Women Impressionists Exhibition, an event which celebrated the resilience of female artists in a male-dominated era.  Clinch also had the great pleasure of sponsoring Irish Language Day at the Fastnet Film Festival in Schull, Co. Cork, celebrating the richness of Irish culture and cinema. Our partnership with The Royal Irish Academy of Music entered its second year, continuing to bring world-class chamber music to Ireland through the RIAM Wigmore Series and delighting our guests and audiences countrywide. As part of this sponsorship, we were very pleased to have provided free access to the concerts for 100 students from across the country.

The year concluded on a high note with a gala event celebrating our exciting new partnership with ANU, Landmark Productions, and the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI) for James Joyce’s beloved and timeless story The Dead. Reimagined by director Louise Lowe in a groundbreaking immersive style, the production captivated audiences and critics alike, earning glowing reviews from the Irish and UK media. Staying true to our commitment to social access, we again took the opportunity to fund free tickets, ensuring that this extraordinary production could be experienced by those who might not otherwise have had the opportunity to enjoy this very unique form of theatre.

At Christmas we also made donations to several charities close to our heart, including Cancer Trials IrelandMatt Talbot Community TrustDublin SimonTrinity Access ProgrammeMellon EducateBarnardosDublin Rape Crisis Centre and St Vincent De Paul.

Reflecting on 2024, the year showcased the remarkable power of collaboration, creativity, and shared purpose. Every partnership brought fresh energy and meaningful impact, and we are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of our initiatives. As we look ahead, we remain committed to building on the achievements of our Cultural and Social Impact Programme and look forward to sharing our progress and updates with you throughout 2025.
